Gone are the days where teenagers were still considered little children and were supposed to only study and play. Times have changed and so have the patterns. Teenagers are no longer considered not eligible or not capable of working and earning money.
If you are 12, 13 or 14 years old; you can easily do work and earn. Of course, I don’t mean to imply that you will be able to land a corporate 9-5 job and make a living out of it but you still can and should earn money.

The answer to these questions is simple and it is YES. You can make money!
Even if you don’t earn thousands of dollars, you will be able to make enough pocket money and not forget the exposure, experience, and confidence that you will be gaining all the way. Working at such a young and tender age (where one has the maximum capability to learn, adapt, and mold oneself) gives you an optimistic approach and insight into the professional world.
Being financially independent is everyone’s right and duty. Eventually, everyone starts striving to be financially independent and stable. But why should one wait to enter the professional world to do so and not start preparing for it from a young age?
Unfortunately, not many people think this way. I am here to write this post and help you change your mind. If you are a parent of 14 years old reading this post or you are a 12, 13, or 14 years old reading this post then remember:
There is no age limit to making money.
If your child wants to work or if you (as a 12, 13 or 14 old) want to work; keep reading. I will be discussing all the ways, tips, and tricks that you need to know in order to make money as a teenager.

#1 – Become a babysitter
I know that your first reaction would have been
How can I babysit? I am too young to take care of someone else!
This is true; you are a child yourself and taking care of another small being is a lot of responsibility.
If it is an infant you will be looking after; you will be needed to change diapers, make feeders and feed the baby. If it is a toddler, you will be looking after; you will need to be on your toes because toddlers are messy and dangerous. One looks in the other direction and the children have the capability to bring the entire house down; this is how much attention is required to look after kids. And if you are supposed to look after elder kids; you will need to be vigilant and careful.
But don’t worry, the American Red Cross, hold training sessions and classes to train 12, 13, and 14 years old to babysit. Although even after the training it will remain a job of a lot of responsibility you will be trained to do so.
So, if you think that you are capable enough and are a fast learner then enroll yourself in one of the babysitting workshops and become a babysitter.
After that, you will be able to babysit children and make money. This job remains in demand throughout the year and especially during the holiday season; everyone needs a babysitter and is even willing to pay double the rate per hour. So, it is a lot of money that you can earn as a teenager!

If you don’t want to work in a restaurant, you can also work at:
- An ice cream café or pop-up stall and scoop out ice creams. Depending on your stamina and availability, you can work a few hours a day and you can even work on the weekends only.
- You can also work in different stores and pharmacies stocking shelves. You can load and unload trucks and arrange the stock on the shelves to make money. This is a very convenient and practical option to make money as a teen.

All these jobs are doable, and you will be able to make money easily.
#3 – Paper route
I won’t lie but when I was a kid, even I had a paper route. I used to work early in the morning, grab my bicycle and after collecting the papers I used to go about my route before heading to school.
Although this is a great and fun option for students to make money as a side hustle, this is not an available option today. Mainly, because not many people read the newspaper in print and open their phones to read the headlines and also because the paper distribution job is majorly done by cars today. But you can still manage to geta route of your own.
If you manage to get one, you can do paper routes and earn money. However, you will need a lot of patience, energy and willingness to make this work. Because whatever the conditions may be, you will have to work.
Also, people feel nice when young children do paper routes. They look cute and people also tip lavishly around the holiday season.
